Roland Weight
BIOGRAPHY
Roland’s art practice encompasses a broad range of art activities including abstract and realist painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, teaching and public art.
The realist paintings are concerned with the effects of light reflected from objects and are mostly done from life in a single session. “It is important to me that the paint is allowed to build up and move in a loose way that keeps the work fresh and accurate. The direct visual engagement with reality is what interests me.”
Roland’s public sculptures can be viewed in Greenock, Kimba, Kangaroo Island, Bundaleer Forest Jamestown and City of Charles Sturt, Adelaide.
