ARTIST STATEMENT:
“This collection of rich tactile narratives, each with a silver moon in the sky, celebrates the human condition of belonging to place and inclusion.
I have responded directly with nature by sketching on my journey through McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu. To my home in Goolwa
Interpreting these sketches entirely with stitch and thread. I move canvas under a still needle and feel like I’m drawing again. Free and spontaneous like the rhythm and movement of the passing landscape, as I stitch and play with line, colour, texture, space, form, and depth.
Each figurative landscape and thoughtful stitch tell a tale of intention, concepts, and the story of making, Mysterious, dreamy faces become part of the landscape as I continue to find inspiration in nature’s beauty and how humans connect and interact and should participate to shape a sustainable future for all.”
