Katie Pearson
Katie Pearson has always been interested in the myriad of beauty surrounding her.
The natural world provides unlimited translations of pattern, form and colour harmony.
This, combined with the intangible element of mood, emotion and atmosphere is where the quiet art of observation is translated into a visual language.
The fluid shift between emotion and the figure has been captured in an underwater series where a moment in time is suspended, where sound is quiet, movement serene and contemplation welcomed
Working as a Sonographer, surrounded by various forms Medial Imaging, her visual cortex is constantly activated. The dots and dashes created by ultrasound reveal secrets inside the human body made up of patterns of line and form.
She is constantly fascinated by the physics creating the ‘magic’ that is ultrasound - allowing interpretation on matters not apparent, diagnosing and finding answers to questions.
Science and Art collide where the acute and sensitive art of observation is shared .
Katie has spent over ten years studying at Art Central School of Art working toward her Associate Degree in Visual Art and has recently attended Atelier classes, with like minded painters, allowing these ideas to develop and mature. She has painted several private varied commissions but excited to be exhibiting publicly in a gallery setting
